Zion is big… 229 square miles with perpendicular cliffs that are nearly 3,000 feet high. Unlike other canyon parks - like the Grand Canyon, where many visitors view the canyons from their rims - Zion draws visitors to its floor. At Zion the Canyon starts wide, and then get’s really narrow.. Some parts are so narrow they only get minutes of sunshine per day
