Exploring the USS Midway Museum in San Diego

With the premiere of the new Top Gun movie tomorrow (May 4) I thought it would be timely to share with you a walking tour of the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, California — which is where some events of the Top Gun premiere are taking place. We visited the Midway this past weekend. The USS Midway is one of San Diego's most popular attraction with over 1 million visitors annually. When the USS Midway was built in 1945 it was the largest ship in the world with over 4,500 personnel onboard. She operated for 47 years, during which time she saw action in the Vietnam War and served as the Persian Gulf flagship in 1991's Operation Desert Storm. Decommissioned in 1992, she is now a museum ship located in Downtown San Diego.
